Now I start to shape the outside of the bowl. I am turning this as a single mount bowl rather than a double mount bowl, meaning I have mounted it so that what will be the bowl bottom is already towards the headstock rather than the other way around which would require re-mounting on another glue block in order to turn the inside. I cut away any of the glue block that gets in my way.

I sanded the upper 2/3 of the bowl to 400 grit before starting to hollow it. The lower part of the bowl will require more shaping later so there is no need to sand it now when access is limited.
I then proceeded to turn and sand the interior of the bowl, keeping in mind that I will be refining the exterior bottom shape later so I needed to leave the lower wall thickness a bit heavy. I also applied my beeswax/mineral oil finish to the interior and buffed it out.
