With the bowl inside done I was ready to part the bowl off the glue block. I made my cut right along the waste side of the glue joint.

With the bowl off the lathe I shaped the remainder of the glue block into a jam chuck or friction chuck to drive the bowl while I refined the bottom shape. I basically just smoothed it and formed a radius at the contact point between the bowl interior and the block so there would not be a sharp corner that might mar the already finished bowl.
